Your Questions, Answered

  • Cornerstone Concrete Plus operates as a professional concrete and excavation contractor in Warsaw, Indiana. We carry appropriate insurance coverage for the work we perform, protecting both our crew and your property throughout every project. We’re also proud members of the Builders Association of North Central Indiana (BANCI), which reflects our commitment to operating at a professional standard within our industry. If you have specific questions about our coverage before starting a project, we’re happy to discuss that directly.

  • Cornerstone Concrete Plus was founded in 2025 by Nate Kline and Tyler Kuhn. While the company is newer, the experience behind it is not—Nate brings over 20 years of hands-on concrete and excavation experience to every project, and Tyler brings six years of construction field experience alongside a background in business management. CCP was built on a foundation of deep trade knowledge, not built from scratch.

  • A few things set CCP apart. First, experienced leadership is present on nearly every job—you’re not handing your project off to a crew you’ve never met. Second, we deliberately price ourselves at a mid-level to premium range because we believe quality work requires adequate time, preparation, and skilled craftsmanship—none of which are possible at the lowest possible bid. Third, we take pride in every project we touch, which means attention to detail, no shortcuts, and finishes that hold up over time. We’re not the right fit for every budget, but for clients who want it done right the first time, we’re the call to make.

  • Not necessarily—though it depends on the scope of the project. For straightforward residential work like a driveway or patio, we can often complete the job without you needing to be present the entire time. That said, we always recommend being available at the start of the project for a brief walkthrough to confirm scope and access, and reachable by phone throughout the day in case any questions come up. For more complex or phased projects, more consistent communication may be needed. We’ll always let you know what to expect before we start.

  • Rain is one of the biggest variables in concrete work, and we take it seriously. Pouring concrete in active rain or on saturated ground can compromise the mix, weaken the surface, and cause long-term durability issues—so we won’t do it. If weather conditions aren’t suitable on your scheduled pour day, we’ll communicate with you as early as possible and reschedule to the next appropriate window. We monitor forecasts closely and plan accordingly. A short delay is always preferable to a pour that doesn’t perform the way it should.

  • We’ll walk you through anything specific to your project when we confirm your schedule, but generally speaking: ensure the work area is accessible and clear of vehicles, equipment, furniture, or landscaping features that could be in the way. If we’re doing demolition or excavation, clear the surrounding area of anything you’d want protected. For driveway work, make sure you have an alternate place to park for the duration of the project and the cure period that follows. We’ll let you know if there’s anything else specific to your job before we arrive.

  • Permit requirements vary depending on the scope and type of work and the jurisdiction your property is in. For most standard residential flatwork—driveways, patios, sidewalks—a permit is typically not required. For foundation work, larger commercial projects, or work that affects drainage or grading near a structure, a permit may be needed. We’ll flag any permit requirements during the estimate process and can advise on next steps. In most cases, if a permit is required, it’s pulled by or coordinated with the property owner or general contractor—we’ll guide you through what’s needed.

  • Cornerstone Concrete Plus is based in Warsaw, Indiana and serves clients within approximately a 50-mile radius of our headquarters. This covers much of Kosciusko County and surrounding areas, including communities like Winona Lake, Syracuse, North Webster, Leesburg, Pierceton, Mentone, Milford, and others in the region. If you’re unsure whether your location falls within our service area, reach out—we’re happy to confirm. For the right project, we’re always open to a conversation about scope and logistics.

  • It depends on the time of year and current workload. Spring and summer are our busiest seasons—for projects during those months, reaching out 4–8 weeks in advance gives us the best chance to fit your project into the schedule at your preferred time. Fall projects can often be scheduled with less lead time. For urgent or time-sensitive needs, it’s always worth a call—we’ll be upfront about what we can accommodate. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have to work around your timeline.

  • Both. We work directly with homeowners on residential projects of all sizes, and we also partner with general contractors, builders, and developers on new construction and commercial work. For GC relationships, we understand the importance of hitting our scheduled window so the rest of the build can move forward—we communicate proactively, show up when we say we will, and coordinate cleanly with other trades on-site. If you’re a builder or contractor looking for a reliable concrete sub in northern Indiana, we’d welcome the conversation.

  • We handle both residential and commercial work, and our team is experienced across project types and scales. On the commercial side, we’ve completed work including parking aprons, commercial slabs, and foundation work for commercial structures. We’re well-suited for small-to-mid-scale commercial projects where quality, communication, and reliability matter—particularly for clients who want a contractor that brings genuine craftsmanship and attention to detail to commercial work, not just residential. For very large-scale commercial projects requiring significant crew scaling, we’re happy to discuss scope and feasibility directly.
